One of Orange County’s “Most Wanted ” Tracked Down by Newburgh K-9

NEWBURGH – On Friday, December 28th shortly after midnight, K9 Officer Roman Scuadroni was patrolling a neighborhood in the City of Newburgh near Third Street and Valley Avenue, when he spotted a wanted felon.

Martin Ochoa-Cardosa, a subject that had a warrant out for domestic violence charges since April 2018, fled on foot when Officer Scuadroni tried to question him.

Officer Scuadroni deployed his K9 partner “Lee”.

K9 “Lee” apprehended Ochoa-Cardosa as he attempted to flee through several back yards in the neighborhood.

He was taken into custody without further incident.

Ochoa-Cardosa is wanted for Criminal Mischief 2nd degree and Criminal Contempt 1st
degree. He was additionally charged with resisting arrest and was held for arraignment in the City of Newburgh.

At the time of his arrest, Ochoa-Cardosa had additional warrants out from the following jurisdictions:

-New York State Police, Montgomery for Resisting Arrest
-Village of Goshen PD, New York for False Impersonation
