Hopewell Junction, NY – Family nurse practitioner Denise McGovern recently joined the Health Quest Medical Practice Division of Primary Care in Hopewell Junction.
“I am committed to helping patients live healthier lives, and this new journey in healthcare is a great way to give back to my community,” McGovern said.
McGovern previously served as a registered nurse in the emergency department at Putnam Hospital Center in Carmel, NY, and Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco, NY, for more than seven years.
After earning her master’s degree in nursing in 2016, she worked as a family nurse practitioner in an urgent and primary care setting at Firstcare Walk-In Medical Center in Highland, NY.
In this role, she treated and diagnosed acute illnesses in patients of varying ages. She also completed procedures such as suturing and X-ray interpretations.
She earned her master’s in business administration, marketing and operations management from Rollins College in Orlando, Fla., and her master’s in nursing from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh.
McGovern enjoys hiking, gardening and any activity that takes her and her family outdoors. As an avid runner, she has completed numerous road races in the Hudson Valley, including the 2014 New York Marathon.
She is certified by the American Nurses Association and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She is also certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support.
