Shooting in City of Newburgh Leaves Two Dead and One Wounded

NEWBURGH – Shots rang out Saturday evening leaving two dead and one wounded in the city of Newburgh.

The City of Newburgh Police Department, in conjunction with the New York State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Orange County District Attorney’s office, are investigating the late evening shooting incident which occurred along Liberty Street in the areas of Gidney Avenue and Clinton Street on Saturday

The two individuals who succumb to their gunshot injuries were pronounced dead at St. Luke’s Hospital. The other individual shot was treated and released.

The decedents have been identified as 25 year old Alexis Camacho, and 28 year old Antwaun Thomas.  Both were city of Newburgh residents.
