RHINEBECK, NY — – STUDIO SHAPE UP: The Keys to Transforming Your Fitness Studio Into a Thriving Business was written by local Hudson Valley Resident, Chelsea Streifeneder and due for release in February of 2019 by Morgan James Publishing.
Streifeneder’s book, and unique program, is designed to help fitness studio owners and wannabe owners discover tools and learn expert tips to make their businesses run more efficiently. Chelsea Streifeneder was named one of the Hudson Valley’s “40 under 40” entrepreneurs and is the owner of Body Be Well Pilates – recently voted Hudson Valley Magazine’s “Best Pilates Studio 2018!” with studios in Red Hook and Catskill, NY.
STUDIO SHAPE UP is written for anyone who owns, manages, or aspires to open a fitness business of any kind. Using knowledge gained over the course of the past decade since first opening Body Be Well Pilates, Streifeneder blends humor, practicality, and sensitivity as she takes readers of STUDIO SHAPE UP through various topics: client engagement, communication, hiring and retention of great staff, finances, management, referrals, how to be financially successful, overcoming the feeling of being ‘stuck’, and the not-so-glamorous parts of running a fitness studio. The book also provides tips and tools for maintaining a discipline of self-care while promoting good health for clients.
“The fitness industry is growing exponentially, and I felt compelled to share what I’ve learned so that others can make their dreams of owning their own studio come true. This book offers people a tell-all type of guide as they set out on the exciting journey of building a profitable, rewarding business. From budgets and operations to attracting and retaining awesome clients, the information I’ve included in this book has been tested through many trials (and more errors than I care to remember). I tried to take what I’ve learned and give people exactly what they need to know in STUDIO SHAPE UP,” said Streifeneder, a Pilates Method Alliance® Certified Pilates Teacher. “Being in love with health, wellness, and fitness is not enough if you want to be successful. You need to be able to marry all that passion with real business acumen. I want to see people go into the industry ready to thrive on every level!”
As a regular instructor in her own studios, Streifeneder also develops customized Pilates programs for cancer patients and for pregnant women and offers and a number of signature classes designed to support people at all ages and fitness stages.
Streifeneder also conducts workshops for fitness entrepreneurs in New York, Michigan, and California. She has been a writer for Prevention and Living Rhinebeck magazines, and her writing can also be found in Activewear USA, Pilates Intel, and PilatesGlossy and other publications. Her online workout series is available worldwide through BooYa Fitness.
STUDIO SHAPE UP is Streifeneder’s first published book and is published by Morgan James Publishing. A portion of the proceeds of book sales will be donated to Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg.
