POUGHKEEPSIE – Lourdes quarterback Max Kras says there’s no secret to the 90 points the Warriors have put up in the first two games of the season, “The secret is just hard work.”, said Kras after scoring three rushing touchdowns and throwing for two more. “We just come in every week and know what we have to accomplish”.
Against Hendrick Hudson, the Warriors needed to establish an offensive dominance and present a stingy defense that could contain a couple of explosive weapons on the the Sailors side of the field.
“Hen Hud actually had a very good game plan but I think we had a little too much speed and offensively we give people problems”, said head coach Brian Walsh.
Lourdes nullified whatever game plan Hen Hud was packing by scoring three times before the Sailors got on the board. But the nail in the coffin had to be the two consecutive TD passes Kras threw just before the first half ended.
Kras hit Kyl;e strack on a cutting route for a 78 yard touchdown. In Lourdes next possession, Kras connected with Marc DiVenuto on a 48 yard sideline pass. DiVenuto was in douvle coverage when he reached back and caught the pass.
Lourdes led 33-7 at halftime.
“I thought we played with a little more confidence this week, and we have to do that because each week it gets harder.”
The Warriors will take on Clarkstown North in a cross over game on Friday, at Clarkstown North
