The Poughkeepsie Plaza features top national chain stores, unique one-of-a kind, family-owned specialty shops, fantastic food stores and restaurants. If you haven’t been here in a while, you’re in for a nice surprise. The Plaza’s indoor atrium keeps you protected from the elements, while you shop some of the areas best stores. Our goal is to give you the comfort and convenience you want, without any of those shopping mall hassles, so you can get in, get out, and enjoy the rest of your day!

The Poughkeepsie Plaza was the first shopping center built on Route 9 and Dutchess County. It opened in 1958 by the Mehlich Family and is still currently owned and operated by the Mehlich Family. It was first a super market strip center, but was later developed into an enclosed mall. It is the perfect area for a smaller local business to grow up, with larger chain tenants drawing large crowds. Some merchants have called the plaza home for over 25 years! The plaza also hosts many community and family friendly events throughout the year. From Health Fairs to Craft Shows to Lego Contests and even Santa and the Easter Bunny, the Poughkeepsie Plaza continues to be a place where families can come and enjoy a pleasant shopping experience.

Conveniently located at 2600 South Rd. in Poughkeepsie, you will find a great selection of local shops, restaurants, cafes and national chain stores. You will be sure to find something for everyone here at the Poughkeepsie Plaza!
