PORT JERVIS – Port Jervis Police Detectives arrested three individuals on Aug. 18, 2017, as part of an ongoing investigation into the sales of the narcotic drug heroin in the City of Port Jervis.

Angel Gonzalez, age 63, of Port Jervis was arrested at the residence and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (possession of a narcotic drug with the intent to sell same), a class B felony offense, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.

According to police, a search of the residence yielded a quantity of heroin which detectives allege that Gonzalez possessed with the intent to sell same to another person.

Jose Cruz, age 35, and Yahaira Rodriguez, age 27, both of 7 New Street, were arrested at their residence and each charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (possession of a narcotic drug with the intent to sell same), a class B felony offense, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Cruz was also charged with an additional count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the third degree (possession of a narcotic drug with the intent to sell same), and one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the fourth degree (possession of one-eighth an ounce or more of a narcotic drug), a class C felony, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Detectives allege that a subsequent search of their residence yielded a quantity of the narcotic drug heroin, and a digital scale, and that Cruz and Rodriguez possessed heroin with the intent to sell same to another person.

Gonzalez, Cruz, and Rodriguez were arraigned and remanded to the custody of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on the following bail amounts:

Gonzalez: $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond alternative.

Rodriguez: $25,000 cash/$50,000 bond alternative.

Cruz: $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond alternative.
