POUGHKEEPSIE – The Art Effect (formerly Mill Street Loft and Spark Media Project) has announced receipt of a national Listen for Good grant from the Fund for Shared Insight.

Art Effect Selected For National Listen for Good GrantThe Art Effect will use the grant, amounting in $45,000 over two years, to collect important input from the people they directly serve.

The Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, a longtime and valued supporter of The Art Effect, served as a nominating partner. “The positive benefits experienced by students of The Art Effect’s programming is undeniable,” says Cristin McPeake, Director of Programs. “We were pleased to represent our community of donors as a nominating partner, and to fulfill the wishes of the Leslie C. and Irene G. Roe Fund in directing $15,000 towards this worthy effort.”

With the help of both funding and technical assistance from the Fund for Shared Insight, The Art Effect will embark on a two-year listening process to gain valuable feedback from our program participants across the Hudson Valley.

Listen for Good data will allow The Art Effect to share community and participant information across programs and partners to help achieve even more robust and effective impact on the youth we serve.

For the first time, The Art Effect will be able to establish a complete feedback loop that honors constituents’ voices as part of our evaluation and decision-making process by asking for feedback, listening and making changes, and reporting back to the community what they have heard and how they have changed.

If you or your child participated in Dutchess Arts Camp, The Art Institute, DROP TV/Media Magic and Project ABLE/Habilidad, please contribute to the first round of feedback by taking the survey at www.surveymonkey.com/r/thearteffect.
