WOODSTOCK— Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV) presented a check for $1,500 to Family of Woodstock due to the great work and vital community role they play for the Woodstock community.
For over 40 years, Family of Woodstock has been made up of paid individuals and volunteers dedicated to offering confidential crisis intervention, information, prevention and support services within Ulster County.
Tamara Cooper, Team Leader at Family of Woodstock and Jana Letus, Vice-President of the Board of Directors at Family of Woodstock, accepted the donation from Wayne Winkler, CEO of MHV, at the Woodstock Branch located at 85 Mill Hill Road.
The donation will go towards specific needs within the Woodstock community, such as access to emergency housing, emergency food pantries, and crisis intervention. Family of Woodstock has one of the longest running 24-hour crisis hotlines available, 365 days a year, and many walk in centers available county-wide.
Family of Woodstock’s 19 programs are made possible by donations and contracts with agencies. Jessica Davis of Family of Woodstock commented, “Family of Woodstock cannot thank MHV enough for their generosity in both their recent gift of $1,500 and for also supporting and attending fundraising events. Contributions such as these allow us to sustain critical programming that is vital in our communities. Thank you for being what we like to call a “Community Hero”.
MHV President/CEO, Wayne Winkler commented, “It’s part of the cooperative spirit of MHV to help the community and the organizations that support the community, such as Family of Woodstock. They do a great job helping Woodstock and Ulster County residents.”
