KINGSTON – All children staying in the Pediatric Unit at Vassar Brothers Medical Center received a toy for Christmas this past December thanks to Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union (MHV).
MHV recently had an event to support their sponsorship of The Berenstain Bears Financial Literacy Program where they asked for a small donation and MHV matched that donation, plus provided the child with a bear to stuff. MHV raised over $400 for Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Last month, MHV presented the Pediatric Unit with all of the toys provided on a toy wish list given by Vassar Brothers Medical Center. The toys will be given to patients on Christmas, birthdays and other major holidays.
MHV Vice President of Marketing, Melissa Walsh coordinated the donation with Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Melissa commented, “We are grateful to have such a supportive community to coordinate this toy donation. Vassar Brothers Medical Center has an amazing pediatric unit with many experienced staff members to care after the children of the Mid-Hudson Valley. MHV is proud to partner with Vassar Brothers Medical Center to brighten a child’s day with a toy.”
MHV is an official sponsor of The Berenstain Bear Financial Literacy Program, a youth education and outreach program created in response to the growing need for financial literacy. The MHV community will be able to participate in financial education, activities and special events geared towards young children to teach the money management concept in a fun and engaging way.
