PORT JERVIS – As a result of a multi-agency law enforcement drug bust, a Port Jervis man was arrested for possessing over 900 decks of heroin.
Port Jervis Police said Fabio Alejandro, age 44, of Port Jervis, was arrested on Jan, 7, 2018 by a multi-agency law enforcement team consisting of the City of Port Jervis Police Department, the City of Middletown Police Department, the New York State Police and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.
The arrest was based upon an investigation into the illicit sales of heroin in the City of Port Jervis and surrounding Orange County region, said officials.
Police recovered approximately 3 ounces of the narcotic drug heroin packaged in 920 small envelopes or “decks” for individual sale during the investigation.
He was charged with three Class B Felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree with Intent to Sell and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (excess of ½ ounce narcotic drug).
The defendant was held overnight in the Port Jervis Police Department City Lock-up and arraigned in Port Jervis City Court by City Court Judge Matthew Witherow on Jan, 8, 2018 and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $20,000.00 bail pending further court appearances.
The case is being prosecuted by the Office of Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
