POUGHKEEPSIE – For the eighth year, the Hudson Valley Young Professionals, a committee of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, will host a holiday toy drive, sponsored by Foam and Wash Car Wash and Guardian Self-Storage.

Donations this year will benefit children receiving services from The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

“Giving back to the community and assisting local nonprofits is central to the mission of the Hudson Valley Young Professionals,” said committee co-chair, Geoff Brault from MidHudson Regional Hospital.

Through Dec. 14, bring new, unwrapped gifts to any of five participating Foam and Wash locations in Fishkill, Poughkeepsie, and Wappingers Falls to receive a free car wash.

Other locations to drop off toys include the Chamber’s office in Poughkeepsie or at the upcoming Contact Breakfast on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

“We are grateful for the support we receive from the community year after year. These generous contributions … will help brighten the spirits of those in need this holiday season,” said co-chair Julia Pagones from Dutchess County Government.

Last year, more than 10 large moving and storage boxes were filled to overflowing with toys, games, and gifts to bring cheer and the committee is hopeful to duplicate that this year.

“It is an honor to serve as a conduit of the generosity of the Hudson Valley, and to work alongside such great partners … I hope this year’s toy drive is our most successful yet,” Brault said.
