CITY OF NEWBURGH – Orange County Sheriff’s Deputies initiated a vehicle stop after they observed a speeding vehicle, unable to maintain its lane on Robinson Ave. in the City of Newburgh about 1:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 10.
While deputies were interviewing the driver, who they identified as Dean Terrizzi of Cornwall, deputies allege Terrizzi was showing signs of intoxication, according to authorities.
Further investigation alleges that Terrizzi was operating a motor vehicle while his privilege to operate a motor vehicle is suspended in New York State.
Terrizzi was administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, which he failed to successfully complete, added authorities.
Terrizzi was arrested by deputies and transported to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office where he provided a positive breath sample of .22% BAC, said authorities.
Terrizzi was charged with one count of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated for having a BAC over .18 per centum, Driving While Intoxicated and Felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation.
Terrizzi was brought before Judge Peter Kulkin in the City of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail on $5000 cash bail and $5000 bond.
