PORT JERVIS – Port Jervis Police announce drug arrests as part of a surveillance operation in the area of 100 Pike Street.
On Oct. 11, 2017, Port Jervis Detectives arrested Victoria Wright, age 35, and a *30-year old man, both of Matamoras, PA.
The two were charged with offenses related to the possession of the narcotic drug heroin.
Wright was charged with Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class B felony, (possession with the intent to sell) after she was allegedly found in possession of in excess of 110 individual bags of heroin. She was also charged with Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and Criminally Possessing Drug Paraphernalia in the second degree, both class A misdemeanor offenses.
The male defendant was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor, Loitering in the first degree, a class B misdemeanor, and Appearing in public under the influence of a narcotic drug, a violation.
Both were held in Port Jervis Police lockup and arraigned the following morning in Port Jervis City Court before the Honorable James M. Hendry III, City Court Judge.
Both were remanded to the custody of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on the following bail amounts: Wright – $25,000 cash, $50,000 bond; male defendant – $2,500 cash, $5,000 bond.
