POUGHKEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie Plaza and JJs2go have teamed up with the The Hispanic Coalition NY, Inc. to collect donations for those affected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

All donations can be dropped off at JJs2go in the center of the plaza.

There will be extra volunteers helping this weekend Oct. 14 through Oct. 16, and next weekend.

Times for drop off are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Tues – Sat) and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday and Monday.

Donations will be collected during regular business hours at JJs2go until the end of October.

ITEMS NEEDED:

Non-perishable items: bottled water, canned food and vegetables, rice and beans, pasta and canned sauce, dried mashed potatoes, seasonings, salt and pepper, powder milk, crackers and snacks.

First aid supplies: hand sanitizer, triple antibiotic cream, insect repellent, hydrocortisone cream, burn cream, nitrile gloves in different sizes and masks, bandaids in different sizes, gauze and bandages, medicine.

Household items: flashlights, batteries: AA, C, D, matches, Magic-click, battery operated fans, sleeping bags, blankets and pillows, towels.

Personal Hygiene items: deodorant, toothpaste and toothbrushes, shampoo and conditioner, soap, tampons and pads, shaving razors, hairbrushes and combs.

Baby items: baby formula, baby food, diapers and wipes, baby medicine
