Police Seek Public's Assistance in Identifying Crime Ring Suspect

FISHKILL – The New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks are investigating a “Felony Lane Gang” identity theft ring.

In these security photo images provided by State Police, a female suspect in a white Jeep Grand Cherokee cashed an alleged forged check at a bank branch in Fishkill.

Anyone who may be able to identify the suspect is asked to contact Investigator Kent Smith at the Wappinger barracks at 845-677-7300 Refer to case # 7580592.

Police Seek Public's Assistance in Identifying Crime Ring SuspectAccording to authorities, suspects have stolen victim’s purses and wallets from vehicles in order to obtain credit cards, check books, and identification.

Some of the vehicles were broken into, and some vehicles were left unlocked for short periods of time while the victims went into a business or dropped their children off at daycare.

The suspects then made fraudulent purchases or cashed forged checks against the victims’ accounts, said authorities.

Victims have been identified in numerous jurisdictions across the country.

Members of the public are reminded to lock their doors and not to leave valuables unsecured in their vehicles.
