Lake Katrine Church to Hold Halloween Alternative

Last year, hundreds of children from the community went from car to car in the Grace Church parking lot to collect candy. Twenty-three vehicles had transformed into movie sets such as  “The Wizard of Oz” or character themes like Ms. Pac-Man and Mickey Mouse.

Volunteers from the church will be grilling free hotdogs and hamburgers and offering bags of freshly made popcorn throughout the evening.

A bonfire also will be built to warm families that want to take a break from all the activities.

Children are encouraged to come dressed in non-scary Halloween costumes. In the event of rain, the carnival will be held on Oct. 29 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m..
