WICCOPEE NY –  Year after year the matchups between John Jay and Arlington football seem to live up to the hype, and then some.  Friday night was no different.  A thriller that came down to the final play as the Patriots jumped out to a 7-0 lead that proved to be the only score of the game, until the final three minutes of play.

In those three minutes, Arlington came alive and found its secret weapon in receiver Jon Fox.  Arlington Quarterback Xavier Powell found fox for two passing touchdowns that put the Admirals head in the final minute of play.

John Jay had one last possession, but the clock was not on their side and time ran out just as Jay quarterback Richie Eletto hit a receiver at the five yard line.

John Jay started off the scoring in the second quarter.  Eletto hit James Luciano with a 35 yard strike and Dylan Burnett followed that up with a five yard run into the end zone.

Arlington’s defense gets credit for holding off a few John Jay scoring threats to allow the Admirals their wild fourth quarter comeback.

Both teams are now 2-1 in the league.  Arlington hosts Carmel next week, while John Jay is at home against former Arlington Head Coach Dom DeMatteo and the Mahopac Indians
