POUGHKEEPSIE – Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County is hosting their 2nd annual Putt Fore ACTION mini golf tournament at DC Sports, 1630 Route 9, Wappingers Falls.

This unique after work event offers the opportunity for the serious golfer and those serious about just having fun to support the important work of Dutchess County’s anti-poverty agency, Community Action Partnership.

Friday, Sept. 15 teams of friends, families and co-workers will compete for boasting rights and prizes for team and individual lowest scores.  In addition there will be longest drive and closest to the pin contests on DC Sport’s golf simulators.  The cost is $40 per golfer and includes mini munchies, beverages, raffles, prizes and surprises.

“We are excited to welcome CAP DC back for this very popular tournament,” said Dan Pizzarelli, owner of DC Sports. “Everyone that participated last year is geared up and ready for this year’s competition, it will be fierce but fun for sure.”

This TGIF event requires golfers to pre-register at www.PuttForeAction.orgCheck in will start at 5:30 p.m. with shot gun start at 6 p.m.

Community Action for Dutchess County partners with individuals and families to eliminate poverty and identify the resources and opportunities available to them to enhance their self-reliance. Last year 1,600 households and 3,600 individuals were provided assistance at one of four CAP DC family development centers in Dutchess County.  “From Millerton to Beacon to Red Hook Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County is addressing the needs of vulnerable children, families and seniors and has been since 1964,” said Elizabeth Spira, CEO of Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County.  “Putt Fore Action is an opportunity for raise the necessary funds to continue helping our neighbors on their journey to self-sufficiency.”

Programs supported by CAP DC include Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, Weatherization Assistance, Free Income Tax Assistance, Dress for Success Dutchess County, food pantries, emergency fuel and employment assistance as well as case management.
