RHINEBECK – Who could you help by donating blood? A mother? A father? A baby? or maybe a person involved in a car accident. Either way, you could be a life saver if you decide to donate your blood this Friday at the Topricin Blood Drive between 10am and 4pm at 6565 Spring Brook Avenue in Rhinebeck.
The requirements are that you must be between 16 and 75 years of age and you must weigh at least 110 pounds.
Blood donating is a simple process that includes a registration, medical history, a mini-physical, and refreshments. It is a safe process with a one time use sterile needle.
The process typically less than 15 minutes.
The Red Corss supplies approximately 40% of the nation’s blood supply and 80% of blood donations given to the Red Cross are collected at blood drives like the Topricin Blood Drive.
The number one reason donors say they give blood is because they “want to help others”.
