SAUGERTIES – Saugerties Police responded to a Dock St. address for a report of an unconscious and unresponsive male about 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 12, 2017, according to Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra.
UC911 reported to first responders that the victim may have overdosed.
When officers arrived, they found a 42-year-old male located in his bedroom unconscious and unresponsive with a tourniquet wrapped around his arm.
Officers administered two doses of Narcan and began CPR.
When paramedics from Diaz Ambulance arrived, they administered another dose of Narcan to the victim who then became responsive.
The victim was transported to the HealthAlliance of the Hudson Valley Broadway Campus Hospital by Diaz Ambulance.
Officers filed A 9.41 mental health evaluation on the victim, said Sinagra.
Saugerties Police were assisted by Diaz Ambulance and the Saugerties Fire Department.
