POUGHKEEPSIE – Enjoy a sunset evening at the Taste of the Market Dinner benefiting the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum on Wednesday, Sept. 13, from 6 to 9 p.m. under The Pavilion at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum.

During this open-air celebration guests will enjoy live music and seasonal culinary dishes created by local chef John Lekic of Le Express Bistro & Bar.

This special event will also include the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum presenting the 2017 Great Friend to Kids Award to honoree Ozie Williams.

Hosted by TEG Federal Credit Union, this benefit presents inspired dishes designed to excite the pallet while showcasing exceptional, locally grown produce from the new Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market.

The Poughkeepsie Waterfront Market is open every Monday, June through October, at the Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum, bringing meats, fruits, vegetables and specialty foods to an area where many residents don’t have access to fresh produce. “The Waterfront Market is really a natural extension of what we’ve been doing in terms of educating people and families about healthy eating,” said Mid-Hudson Children’s Museum Executive Director Lara Litchfield-Kimber.

Tickets for the Taste of the Market Benefit Dinner are $75 per person and on sale now.
