NEWBURGH – State Police stopped a vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Newburgh on August 9, 2017, just before 11:30 p.m. for multiple vehicle and traffic violations.
During the interview of the driver for the traffic violations, probable cause to search the vehicle and its occupants was established, said officials.
Ramos-Garcia was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Newburgh, were he was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd Degree; a Class D Felony.
Ramos-Garcia was arraigned before the Town of Newburgh Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1500. Cash or bond.
He will return to court date in the Town of Newburgh at a later date.
The driver of the vehicle was issued tickets and released.
