Paula Young hosts “Public House” – intimate conversations with people making a difference in the Hudson Valley.
Paula’s Public House in Poughkeepsie opened in October 2016 on the site of the well-known Mulligan’s Irish House in the Red Oaks Mill section of town. It’s proprietor, Paula Young, has completely re-imagined the old, dark Irish pub into a bright, homey, comfortable pub and bar with a “food is love”-conceived menu.
Paula’s Public House is also the setting for “Public House”, a series of intimate conversations with people making a difference in the Hudson Valley. This segment was recorded in front of the restaurant’s beautiful stone fireplace. Paula’s guest is Hudson Valley resident Robin Lois, candidate for Dutchess County Comptroller.
Robin lives in LaGrange with her husband and two children. She is the controller and owner of two Dutchess County businesses. She is a former CPA and former auditor. Robin was born and raised in the Mid-Hudson Valley and is active in her community and children’s schools here in Dutchess.
After working in all different genres of accounting and business Robin Lois now wants to use her skills and knowledge for a civic purpose. She is seeking election as Dutchess County Comptroller and is campaigning as a Democrat. Election day is Tuesday, November 7th.
