Smoothie King Opens in Wappingers Falls
WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY – Smoothie King Franchises, Inc., a privately held New Orleans-area-based franchise company, opened it’s 900th facility in Wappingers Falls on Monday. Local owners Bob and Kathy Viani welcomed hundreds of first day guests with everything from smoothies for fitness, wellness, slimming down, and for those looking to just “take a break”.
“Every Smoothie is created with a purpose”, said Smoothie King CEO Wan Kim. “Some of our offerings take months to perfect”.
By creating each smoothie with a purpose, Smoothie King’s mission is to make it simple and pleasurable for guests to achieve their individual health goals as part of a low-calorie diet and regular exercise routine. The franchise also offers a number of nutritious retail products, including sports beverages, energy bars, vitamin supplements and more.
“I was researching the company for two years”, said local Wappingers Falls owner Bob Viani. “When this place became available I said it’s now or never”. The place he is referring to is the former Bad Ass Cafe in the plaza next to McDonald’s right off Route 9 and Main Street in Wappingers Falls.
The Viani’s are no stranger to franchises and entrepreneurship, having previously owned 17 Planet Fitness facilities throughout the Hudson Valley, Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
“The Viani’s are a perfect fit for us”, added Kim, “The both have and understand the importance of physical fitness and exercise which is a perfect compliment to our health and nutrition initiatives at Smoothie King.”
Smoothie King was founded in 1973 by Steve Kuhnau, whose mission was to help others achieve better health in a tasty way.
