Cocaine Found Following Traffic Stop

SOUTH NYACK – The South Nyack-Grand View Police Department arrested a Fort Montgomery resident for drug possession on Jul. 14, 2017 at 10 p.m.

According to South Nyack-Grand View Police Chief Brent Newbury, Craig A. Ward, age 52, was allegedly observed operating a 2011 BMW sedan in violation of NYS Vehicle and Traffic Laws on South Broadway in the Village of South Nyack.

When stopped, Newbury said Ward was allegedly found to be in possession of two ounces of a substance that field tested positive for Cocaine.

Ward was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony.

He was arraigned in South Nyack Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of bail.

Ward is scheduled to return to the South Nyack Justice Court at a later date to answer the charges.
