FISHKILL – Like many Renegades starters before him this season, Resly Linares did all that was asked of him.  He kept the opponent scoreless through the first five innings of Saturday’s game at Dutchess Stadium.  Fitting that the Renegades were hosting a Christmas Eve in July promo night, because the Hudson Valley bullpen offered some early Christmas presents as soon as they entered the game, unwrapping a scoreless game into a 6-2 loss.

Eduard Rosillo presented the first gift throwing one in the dirt with the bases loaded in the 6th.

The Renegades came back in the bottom of the inning when Emilio Gustave hit a two out-two run homer over the left field fence to give Hudson Valley a 2-1 lead.

Rosillo hit a batter in the 7th, then uncorked a wild pitch and gave up an RBI single to allow the Scrappers to tie the game at 2.  Rosillo was replaced by Blake Pflughaupt and the Scrappers scored another two runs to make it 4-2 after seven innings.

In the eighth, Renegades reliever Matt Vogel offered up two more presents as Simeon Lucas singled, and Vogel hit a batter to start the inning. Both runners scored to make it 6-2

On the positive side, Matt Eureste had another multiple hit day with two hits and a double.

Linares pitched five scoreless and hitless innings, retiring the last eight men he faced.

Hudson Valley wraps up its six-game home stand hosting Mahoning Valley today at Dutchess Stadium at 5:05 p.m. Continuing with the Christmas in July theme, Hudson Valley will be celebrating Christmas at tonight’s game. iTickets can be purchased online at hvrenegades.com or by calling the ticket office at 845-838-0094.
