KINGSTON – An Ellenville woman is under arrest following an altercation on Cox Road in Cragsmoor.
Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested Jenah M. Hammel, age 18, of Ellenville and charged her with the felony of Tampering with a Witness in the Third Degree and the misdemeanors of Assault in the Third Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
According to authorities, on July 13, 2017 at 7:45 p.m., deputies responded to Tuthill Ave. residence in the Village of Ellenville where they allege Hammel met with the victim and drove to Cox Road in Cragsmoor where a physical altercation between the two occurred.
The victim was then driven back to her residence and threatened by Hammel with harm to her family and herself if the victim called the police, said authorities.
The victim sought medical attention at Ellenville Hospital for the injuries received during the altercation.
Hammel was arraigned in the Village of Ellenville Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1000 property bond, to return to the Town of Wawarsing Court at a later time.
