POUGHKEEPSIE – Do you have varicose veins, swelling and aching in your legs?

Heart Center Hosts Veins, Leg Pains Seminar

Dr. Kamran Haleem

The Heart Center, a division of the Hudson Valley Cardiovascular Practice, P.C., will host an educational seminar on chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jul. 27, at Cosimo’s Trattoria and Bar, 120 Delafield St., Poughkeepsie.

The seminar is open to the public and has no cost. Registration is required.

Dr. Kamran Haleem, a cardiologist with The Heart Center, will lead an informative presentation on the causes, common misconceptions and minimally invasive treatment options for individuals with CVI.

“Symptoms of CVI, such as varicose veins, are often misunderstood as a cosmetic problem, so individuals living with them do not seek proper treatment,” Haleem said. “If left untreated, symptoms can worsen over time, but with advanced technology and minimally invasive surgery options we have the tools to treat them before they progress.”

CVI develops when healthy veins in the legs do not function properly. This limits blood flow to the heart by allowing blood to flow in both directions, sending excess blood into the lower legs.

A complimentary dinner will be served.

Seating is limited. To register, call Kimberly Greiner at 845-473-1188 ext. 51104 (TTY: 1-800-421-1220), or email kgreiner@health-quest.org.
