GOSHEN – Multiple arrests were made as a result of an undercover investigation in the City of Port Jervis conducted by the joint efforts of the Port Jervis City Police Department with the assistance of the Town of Deerpark Police Department, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office into complaints of illicit narcotics dealing of cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin and hallucinogenic drugs in the City of Port Jervis and the Town of Deerpark.

Multiple Arrests Made Following Undercover Investigation

The investigation resulted in the arrests of seven individuals and the execution of five Port Jervis City Court ordered search warrants, the seizure of heroin, cocaine, assorted psychedelic narcotics, oxycodone, US Currency and drug paraphernalia, said authorities.

The following persons were arrested and charged:

On June 14, Joseph Jacke, age 31, of Port Jervis, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both Class B Felonies. Jacke is accused of selling morphine pills in the City of Port Jervis. The defendant was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in Lieu of $10,000.00 bail.

On June 15, Joshua Robinson, age 28, of Port Jervis, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance Third Degree, a Class B Felony, two Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Sell in the Third Degree, Class B Felonies, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Felony and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. Robinson is accused of selling crack cocaine and was found in possession of crack cocaine and MDMA at time of his arrest and search warrant execution. Robinson was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $30,000 bail pending a Court Appearance.

DaShell Powlus

On June 24, DaShell Powlus, age 20, of Port Jervis, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class A-II Felony, four Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all Class B felonies, and one Count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a Class C Felony. The defendant is accused of selling the hallucinogenic drug Psilocybin. The defendant was further found in possession of a quantity Dimethyltryptamine (DMT), psilocybin and mescaline and US Currency after the execution of a court ordered search. Powlus was arraigned and sent to Orange County Jail without bail pending further court appearances.

On June 27, Austin Finch, age 20, of Port Jervis, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class B Felonies, two Counts Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with Intent to Sell, Class B Felonies, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Imitation Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class A Misdemeanor. The defendant was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail pending further court appearances.

On June 28, Justin Paduani, age 24, of Port Jervis, was charged with two counts each of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class B Felonies, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor.
The defendant is accused of selling crack cocaine and was found in possession of crack cocaine during the execution of a search warrant. The defendant was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail pending further court appearance.

On June 28, Trevone Waxter, age 32, of Oneonta, NY, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree “with intent to sell, both Class B Felonies. The defendant is accused of selling cocaine on Pike Street in the City of Port Jervis. The defendant was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail pending further court appearances.

On June 30, Anthony Torres, age 36, of Port Jervis, was charged with two counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, Class B Felonies, four counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with Intent to Sell, Class B Felonies, one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a Class C Felony, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, Class A Misdemeanors and Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The defendant is accused of selling cocaine and oxycodone during this undercover investigation. Police recovered a quantity of cocaine, oxycodone, marijuana, US Currency, scales and packaging materials during the execution of a search warrant. The defendant was arraigned in City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail pending further court appearances.
