PORT JERVIS – On June 9, 2017, Port Jervis City Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Group executed two Port Jervis City Court Ordered Search Warrants on the premises located at 103 East Main Street and 178 Front Street in the City of Port Jervis based upon an undercover narcotics investigation occurring in the City of Port Jervis over the past few months.

The following persons were arrested and charged as a result of this investigation:

103 East Main Street:

Charles Dessasure, age 36, and Tanika Hawkins, age 39, both of 103 East Main Street and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree “With Intent to Sell”, (B Felonies), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree (C Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th Degree (D Felony) and the A Misdemeanors of Criminal Possession of Marijuana 4th Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree. Police recovered a quantity of cocaine, marijuana, concentrated cannabis oil, codeine, digital scales and packaging materials and $7,097.00 in US Currency during the investigation. The defendants were arraigned in Port Jervis City Court and each remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail pending further court appearances.

Tina McDaniel, age 33, of 178 Front Street, Apt #2, Port Jervis, was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (with intent to sell), both class B felonies, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd, both Class A Misdemeanors. The defendant is alleged to have sold crack cocaine during this undercover investigation. McDaniel was arraigned in Port Jervis City Court and remanded to Orange County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail pending further City Court appearances.

The above cases are being prosecuted by the Office of District Attorney David Hoovler.
