SAUGERTIES – The Saugerties Police Detective Division investigated an incident which involved a suspect, Joshua A. Risley, age 37 of Saugerties, who they say allegedly cashed fraudulent checks at the Saugerties Mobile Mart located at 300 Rt. 212, between January 3, 2017 and January 13, 2017.
Police said Risley was allegedly making his own checks, forging bank information on the checks and then cashing them at the Saugerties Mobile.
Following an investigation by the Saugerties Police Detectives, the suspect was arrested on May 17, 2017, and charged with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd (3 counts) – felonies, Grand Larceny 4th degree – Felony (1 count), Issuing a bad check (3 counts) – Misdemeanors.
He was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
