“We are thrilled to congratulate Christine on this prestigious honor and recognition for business leaders in our community,” said Joanne Fernandez, Board Chairperson for Westchester Parks Foundation. “We always knew Christine was a star, but it’s great to now share that with the rest of the business sector.”

La Porta joined Westchester Parks Foundation in 2013 after more than 10 years in operations and project management in the financial, government, and not-for-profit sectors. Christine oversees the day-to-day operations of the nonprofit organization and provides leadership on many of its signature programs, including Westchester’s Winter Wonderland, Bicycle Sundays, Trails Advocacy, and special events.

La Porta received her BA from Stonehill College and MPA from NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service. In addition to her work with Westchester Parks Foundation, she serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Bronxville Beautification Council. She believes that parks encourage fitness and active transportation.

La Porta resides in Bronxville with her husband and two children.

La Porta and the other winners will be honored on June 15 during an evening reception at 800 Westchester Avenue in Rye Brook. The Rising Stars program is modeled after the national business recognition program “40 under 40.” Rising Stars honorees were chosen based on professional and/or entrepreneurial accomplishments, professional and/or business affiliations, and demonstrated leadership skills.
