WHITE PLAINS – The City of White Plains Youth Bureau’s 1st Annual STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math) Fair will be held on Saturday, May 13 at the Eastview Middle School, 350 Main St. from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The fair is an opportunity for students from 4th grade through high school to showcase a wide variety of STEAM projects they have developed over the past three to six months. Projects will be judged and prizes awarded for the winners in each age category. Projects explore a wide range of STEAM areas from robotics to the biology of decay and rotting. Participants include many from Youth Bureau STEAM programs and after school programs as well as participants from other youth serving agencies in the County.
This inaugural STEAM Fair is the beginning of what is intended to be an annual event hosted by the Youth Bureau, underlining the importance of STEAM learning and creativity in the lives and future careers of young people.
In addition to the youth participants, the Fair will showcase the contributions and have participatory exhibits from a number of sponsors and partners in this event, including HDR, Microsoft, A+STEM Labs, The Digital Arts Experience, New York Life, Pace University’s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems, and the New York Power Authority.
