MIDDLETOWN – The Marketing Department at the Greater Hudson Valley Health System, in conjunction with Focus Media, was recently bestowed with several nationally recognized healthcare advertising awards including ‘Best of Show’ for a powerful ad series for the Breast Center at Orange Regional Medical Center (ORMC).
Advertising and publicity materials for both Orange Regional Medical Center and Catskill Regional Medical Center received various additional Healthcare Advertising Awards in a competition sponsored by Healthcare Marketing Report, the leading publication covering all aspects of healthcare marketing, advertising and strategic business development.
ORMC is the recipient of a ‘Best of Show’ award and a Gold award for a print advertising series for the Breast Center called Because of You. The impactful series highlights a variety of heartfelt and personal reasons why the people at ORMC put compassion behind everything they do when helping patients facing breast cancer. ORMC was one of only 16 hospitals nationwide to be recognized with a Best of Show award for exhibiting the highest standards, creativity and professionalism in advertising. Orange Regional was among those that captured the attention and admiration of the panel of judges for overall excellence and breakthrough advertising.
The Marketing Department at ORMC also received two Silver awards in the Newspaper Single Ad category and in the Outdoor category for a colorful and adventurous Orthopedics Surgery promotion campaign. The advertisement, called Life Keeps Moving, features a dynamic and colorful photo of tandem skydivers in flight. A Silver award was also given to the Breast Center ad campaign in the category Total Advertising without TV.
The Department also received a Gold award for the Catskill Regional Medical Center newsletter called Staff Matters in the Internal Publications category. A Silver Award was also given to Catskill Regional the Single Spot Radio Ad category for a commercial touting the hospitals Bariatric Weight Loss Surgery Program.
Additionally, the Marketing Department received awards for ads created for Orange Regional Medical Group including a Silver Award for a Newspaper Ad for Urgent Care depicting compassionate care to a cute little girl feeling under the weather. Medical Group ads also received two Bronze Awards for radio commercials for Urgent Care in the Radio Ad Series and Single Spot categories.

The Healthcare Advertising Awards are is the oldest, largest and most widely respected healthcare advertising awards in the United States. This annual contest provides an opportunity for organizations to be recognized for outstanding work and creative inspiration in healthcare marketing. Each year, a national panel of judges is engaged to review all entries based on creativity, quality, message effectiveness, consumer appeal, graphic design and overall impact. This year nearly 4,000 entries were received, making the awards the largest healthcare advertising awards competition and one of the ten largest of all advertising awards.
