SAUGERTIES – Saugerties Police are investigating a crash involving a motorcycle that struck a tree on Glenerie Lane in Mount Marion on Apr. 17 just after 8 p.m.

Police said an investigation alleges that 28-year-old Zachery C. Dumond of Napanoch was operating a 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle north on Glenerie Lane without headlights on.

Dumond failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, running off the right shoulder of the roadway and down an embankment, striking a tree head on, said police.

Dumond who sustained multiple injuries in the crash was treated at the scene by members from the Mount Marion Fire Department and Paramedics from DIAZ Ambulance.

Dumond was transported to the HealthAlliance Hospital, Broadway Campus in Kingston, where he was stabilized and then transferred to the Albany Medical Center.

Saugerties Police are continuing their investigation and charges are pending.

Police were assisted at the scene by members from Mount Marion Fire Department and DIAZ Ambulance.
