WOODBURY – Following a vehicle and traffic stop on I-87 in the Town of Woodbury for a speeding violation on Apr. 17 at 1:23 a.m., New York State Police arrested a Troy resident for drug possession.
According to authorities, during the interview of the driver for the traffic violation, a probable cause to search the vehicle was established.
During the search, approximately 78 grams of suspected Cathinone (KHAT), a scheduled 1 drug, was located.
Ali F. Almudhalaa, age 19 of Troy was taken into custody, transported and processed at SP Tarrytown, where he was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree: Intent to Sell; a Class B Felony (1 count) and Vehicle and Traffic Violation.
Almudhalaa was arraigned before the Town of Monroe Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $25,000. Cash bail, $50,000. Bond.
