POUGHKEEPSIE –   The Highland Huskies continue to show a lot of promise with an 11-7 lacrosse win over Our Lady Of Lourdes Wednesday afternoon.  The Huskies are shooting to match the program’s sectional championship success over the past two years running.

Led by Roger Hegeman’s four goals, the Huskies jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the first quarter.  While Highland knew it’s defense would be pretty solid this season, thanks to the return of the starting defense, the offense has been on fire with six players getting into the scoring column.  Jack Fredrick scored the hat trick, Jack Young, Jesse Weaver, Chris Hammond and Mike Cerniglia all scored goals.

Danny Rusk offered two assists, as did Weaver, Hammond and Christian Canno.

Lourdes got three goals from Joe Scaglione and two from Dillon Rispali.  Corey and Evan Mullaly each scored one goal in the loss.

Highland goalie Girogio D’Angelo had 12 saves, while Andrew Bucher had 6 for the Warriors.

Highland improves to 4-2, Lourdes is 3-2 on the season.
