HURLEYVILLE – An on-duty Fallsburg police officer’s body was found inside his residence on Railroad Avenue in Hurleyville on Apr. 5, said authorities.

The New York State Police and the Fallsburg Police Department are investigating the death of 35-year-old Dylan Dainack of Hurleyville who was discovered deceased by an acquaintance inside his home.

Police said an investigation revealed that Dainack, age 35, an on-duty Fallsburg Police Officer, had returned to his residence during his shift for an evening meal break and his body was discovered a short time later, according to authorities.

The acquaintance then contacted 911.

An autopsy is scheduled and the investigation into Dainack’s cause of death remains ongoing.
