Paula Young hosts “Public House” – intimate conversations with people making a difference in the Hudson Valley.
Paula’s Public House in Poughkeepsie recently opened on the site of the well-known Mulligan’s Irish House in the Red Oaks Mill section of town. It’s proprietor, Paula Young, has completely re-imagined the old, dark Irish pub into a bright, homey, comfortable pub and bar with a “food is love”-conceived menu.
Paula’s Public House is also the setting for “Public House”, a series of intimate conversations with people making a difference in the Hudson Valley. This segment was recorded in front of the restaurant’s beautiful stone fireplace. Paula’s guest is Hudson Valley resident Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart, Executive Director of the Walkway Over The Hudson.
The Walkway Over The Hudson, connecting Poughkeepsie to Highland, will draw nearly 500,000 visitors this year. It is a favorite destination for local residents and as well as visitors from all over the world! It’s a popular site for non-profit fundraiser events and exciting community events.
Coming up next Friday, October 6th, The Walkway Over the Hudson will host its annual Starry Starry Night benefit at Upper Landing Park along the Poughkeepsie waterfront, offering attendees an opportunity to ride from the shoreline park to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park in the 21-story Walkway elevator and view a dazzling fireworks display.
