TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department reports the arrest of 41-year-old Juan A. Rodriguez, a New York State registered Level-3 sex offender, on Feb. 28, 2017.

Police said he allegedly failed to report a change of address and allegedly failed to verify his address every 90 days, which is in violation of New York State Corrections Law.

An investigation by the Town Police, in conjunction with the Dutchess County Office of Probation and the City of Newburgh Police Department, alleges Rodriguez has been residing at 45 Spackenkill Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie without reporting his change of address.

His last registered address was in the City of Newburgh, said police.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services designates an offender with a Level-3 status when it has been determined that the person poses a “high risk of repeat offense and a threat to public safety exists,” said police.

Police add that Rodriguez was previously convicted for failing to register as a sex offender in 2002.

He was arraigned in the Town of Poughkeepsie Justice Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail, and is scheduled to reappear at a later date.
