BLOOMING GROVE – The Blooming Grove Police said during an ongoing investigation they determined the two men who visited the home of an elderly woman on Feb. 14 and 15, asking if she wished to improve the home’s energy efficiency, work for a legitimate solar company called Vinvint Solar.

Solicitors in Blooming Grove Work for Solar CompanyPolice said the two men did not and do not have a permit to solicit in the area.

Any resident seeing these subjects in the area are asked to call police so they can be advised of the local laws.

The police said by no means do they endorse this company or any of their practices; they are just advising the men DO NOT work for Orange and Rockland and were NOT sent to the area by O&R.

Orange and Rockland has requested that anyone dealing with these types of situations regarding energy efficiency are asked to get as much information as possible on the sales person and the company they work for.

Residents are asked to call O&R customer service with the information so they can forward it properly.

If there are a lot of complaints with any of these companies, it will be brought to the attention of the NYS Attorney General’s Office.

If in doubt, do not hesitate to call the police.
