Poughkeepsie – At an early morning press conference at the iHeart Radio studios in Poughkeepsie, station President Chuck Benfer along with iHeart News Director Cameron Hendrix announced that Hudson Valley News Network.com will be the radio station’s official news source for local Hudson Valley news, sports, and information.

iheartmediaBenfer started off the press conference by stating, “It’s my mission to provide our listeners with the most accurate, reliable, and dependable news and information and over the last year or so we’ve been talking about a collaboration with the Hudson Valley News Network because they have really stepped up the news presence and presentation in the marketplace.”

Joining the press conference were HVNN.com Co-Founder and Executive Producer Charlie Cornacchio and HVNN News Anchor Paula Mitchell.

“We are thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate with such a community minded organization like iHeart Media. Our footprint is similar and we share common values,” said CornacchioImage35

“A lot of news staffs, no matter what the medium, are cutting back or getting their news from an outside source, ” added Mitchell  “We are local,
we’re local people, we’re local journalists who have a stake in our community and I think that it shows in our work.”

HVNN.com launched its news website 15 months ago on September 1, 2014.  The HVNN 3000 square foot studio is located at the Dutchess County airport in Wappingers Falls

“HVNN.com has a  focus on reporting on local news and that is what this area needs,” added Benfer, “We have plenty of affiliates, nationally, that can tell us what’s happening in California but we need HVNN.com to help us get the stories out locally and that’s a really important part of this collaboration,” said Benfer.

The alliance begins Monday December 7, 2015 with HVNN providing news updates to iHeart radio at 12pm, 4pm, 5pm, and 6pm.

iHeart Radio owns Q92.1FM, 93.3 Rock, 96.1 Kiss FM, 107.3 WRWD Country, and NewsRadio 1450am WKIP
