Senator Sue Serino Hosts Community Senior Golden Gathering
When: Saturday, October 3, 2015; 9:30am to 12:30pm
Where: Arlington High School, 1157 NY-55, LaGrangeville, 12540

On Saturday, October 3, 2015, Senator Serino will be hosting a Golden Gathering for the benefit of senior citizens across the 41st Senate District. The event will consist of health screenings, entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and various informational tables geared toward the interests and needs of area senior citizens. From senior safety to nutrition, the event acts as a ‘one-stop shop,’ bringing together invaluable resources for seniors and their families. Thanks to the generosity of the James J. McCann Charitable Trust, the event is free of charge for all who attend. This year’s event will be held at the Arlington High School, 1157 Route 55 in LaGrangeville from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Senator Serino would also like to invite local organizations who primarily serve our seniors to participate in this year’s event by sponsoring an informational table. There is no charge or contribution required. If your organization is interested in participating, please call 845-229-0106 before September 2, 2015.  All area seniors and their families are invited to attend.

Early registration is under way for the 20th annual Dutchess County Senior Prom. The event will take place Monday, Oct. 19, from noon to 4 p.m. at Villa Borghese, 70 Widmer Road. The Prom is once again co-hosted by The Pines at Poughkeepsie.

The theme this year is going back to the original idea of emulating a high school prom. Attendees are encouraged to “dress to impress” by wearing their most-elegant attire. The five-piece Bob Martinson Band will once again provide the entertainment.

Discounted early-bird registration is encouraged, as the prom sells out every year. Tickets are available for $20 for those whose payment is received before Sept. 20 (or when it sells out). After Sept. 20, admission is $30. Those who wish to sit together (up to 10 at a table) should send their payment in together.
Please be sure to include the names of everyone you are paying for and send your check to the Dutchess County Office for the Aging, 27 High St., Poughkeepsie, N.Y. 12601.
